Designing Paradise
From sand to sea and past to present, design innovation throughout the Southland is rooted in a creative response to the region’s desert, urban and coastal landscapes. Honoring this legacy, L.A. Mart® Design Center’s 2007 Designers’ Forum series, “A Study in West Coast Style,” brings together today’s top shelter publications and leading design authorities for a three-part series to celebrate our rich design history and its influence on current and future trends.

Urban Style
presented by California Home + Design
Like most things L.A., our (sub)urban landscape and its architectural imprint are anything but typical. California Home + Design Executive Editor Sarah Lynch moderated a panel of influentials including designers Eliot Angle and David Dalton, and architect Richard Abramson as they revealed the back-story of urban sprawl, the mavericks that reinvented the concept of design expression and the region’s renewed sensitivity between architecture and environment. Nearly 100 design professionals attended the presentation, followed by a reception in the PALECEK showroom.
